Restorative dentistry aims to restore the damaged teeth due to cavities or cracks. Minimal tissue reduction is possible using the newly developed restorative materials. If the tooth is quite damaged indirect restoration techniques such as inlays or onlays are preferred. An impression is taken and the restoration is fabriqued in a laboratory.
If the cavýty is deep and tooth nerve is involved then a root canal treatment is considered. By this method the tooth is preserved in mouth without extraction. |
